We put the four most common requests at the top of the home screen: Ask Doctor, Result Reading, Weight Loss Injections, and X-ray Reading. Below them, two large tiles open Home Visit and Telehealth.

Code Brew Labs Developed a Teleconsultation App for Hakeem Care That Reached 50K+ Downloads in Saudi Arabia

Project Overview
Our client, Hakeem Care, is a healthcare company based in Jeddah. It provides doctor consultations, nurse visits and many more services. The patients had to contact the company to make an appointment for any service, and there was no central point for selecting the doctor and checking their appointments.
Hakeem Care wanted an app that allows patients to do all of this from their phone, whether in Arabic or English, whether with or without insurance, from anywhere in Saudi Arabia.
Our team worked with Hakeem Care to develop a teleconsultation and home healthcare app for patients in Saudi Arabia. Our team brought doctor consultations, home visits and lab bookings into one platform. Patients could select their city, find a doctor and pay through the app very easily. The platform supports Arabic and English and is available on Android, iOS and the web. The Android app has reached more than 50,000 downloads.
Business Challenges
Manual Appointment Booking
Hakeem Care needed a much better way to handle appointment requests. Patients depended on direct communication with the team to arrange services, which made the process time taking.
Difficulty finding a suitable doctor
Patients didn't know which doctors were available or what type of doctor they wanted to contact.
Services arranged one by one
Doctor call, nurse visit, and home blood test were booked separately. They were all different and had different addresses and prices; hence, the patients repeated their information over and over.
Unclear insurance
Insured patients would not be able to determine prior to booking if their insurance was accepted by their company. Patients who self-paid were required to answer the same questions.
Slow help in urgent cases
If someone had an emergency, they had to wait for a call back before getting help from a doctor.
Our Solution
We added a city list with 23 cities. When a patient picks a city, the list of doctors changes to match. Each specialty has its own icon and its own doctor list, and each doctor has a profile page.
- 29 specialties, which include hormones, mental health, nerves, kidneys, skin, heart, eyes, bones and nutrition
- Some less common choices, like jaw and mouth problems, obesity treatment and a lifestyle coach
- Doctor profiles with ratings, so patients can compare before they book
Patients can talk to a doctor by chat, phone call or video. They check when the doctor is free, pick a day and time, and get a notification when the booking is confirmed.
- Call, chat or video consultation
- An urgent consultation button on the home screen that skips the doctor list
- A details page for every urgent call
We built two services for patients who need a quick answer, as the client wanted to add these. In Ask Doctor, the patient picks a topic and sends a question to a doctor in a free chat. In Result Reading, the patient chooses a topic, and a doctor explains a lab or X-ray report. Each has its own tile on the home screen.
Patients can order care at home from the same app. They choose the type of visit, add their address, and pick a time.
- Doctor visits
- Nurse visits
- Physiotherapy
- Elderly care
The patient chooses a test group and a time, and a technician comes to take the sample.
- Pregnancy tests
- Vitamin and general health tests
- Immune disease tests
- Diabetes tests
Offers are grouped into child health, women’s health, men’s health and general health. A View All page shows every offer, and a voucher list at checkout applies the chosen offer to the booking. The Google Play listing also mentions online classes with overseas experts, home spa and pet home care.
- An Appointments tab shows every booking in one place
- A Messages tab holds the chat with each doctor
- A profile section shows the patient’s past activity in the app
- Reminders and cancellations help patients avoid long waits and help doctors avoid empty slots
We kept sign-ups short so a new patient can reach a booking quickly.
- Sign up and log in with a phone number and a code sent by SMS
- A country code list with more than 190 countries, set to Saudi Arabia by default
- Two steps: gender first, then insurance and National ID or Iqama number
- A list of 12 insurance and claims companies, including GlobeMed, Walaa, Saudi Enaya, Amana, Salama and AICC
- Mada, Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay
- Tamara and Tabby to pay in parts
- A voucher list for offers and packages
Patients can ask for help in three ways: a WhatsApp button with a ready message, a call center number, or the Messages tab. We also added ratings after each consultation and a reviews page, and the website shows these reviews on its home page.
Patients have the option to easily switch between Arabic and English from the top bar. Both language versions support the app's main features.

Development Process
Planning the services
We listed every service the company offered and sorted them into doctor consultations, home care, home lab tests, and free advice. Each group got its own booking steps.
Arabic first design
Next, we designed the home screen and signed up in Arabic first, then tested the right-to-left layout on Android and iPhone.
Core build
After approval of the design, our healthcare app development company built sign up, city and specialty choice, doctor schedules, and the booking system first.
Payments and insurance
We connected card, Apple Pay, and pay in parts options and added the insurance list to sign up.
Testing and release
We tested the app's booking process and all features on Android and iOS. Our team also checked the Arabic and English interfaces before release.
Deployment
After testing, we deployed the teleconsultation app and made it available on Google Play and the App Store.
Post-Launch Maintenance
Our team continued supporting the app after launch by fixing issues and making updates when needed. We also added new services and features as Hakeem Care expanded its healthcare offerings.
What the Client Says
We worked with Code Brew Labs to bring our healthcare services into one app. Our patients can now book consultations, home visits and lab tests without having to contact us separately for each service. The Arabic and English options also make the app easier to use across Saudi Arabia.
