Built a Saudi Padel Platform for Players and Court Owners, Reaching 50K+ Downloads and 500+ Active Courts

Pala De 7 screens: match details with split payment, the Discover screen, a court booking and the owner’s Arabic schedule

Project Overview

Our client Pala De 7 serves the Saudi padel community. Padel has grown quickly in Saudi Arabia, but the way people book it has not changed. A player who wanted a game asked friends which court had a free hour. Then the player sent a message and waited for an answer. Payment happened in cash when the group arrived. A court owner replied to every request by hand and kept the schedule in a notebook or a chat.

This worked for a few courts. It stopped working as more players arrived and more courts opened. Slots were promised twice. New players could not find games at their level. Owners had no clear view of how busy their courts were.

Pala De 7 wanted one app where players find a court and book it, and where owners run their courts from the same system.

To solve this, we built one padel platform for the whole booking process. Players find courts and games, then book and pay inside the app. Owners manage reservations and daily operations from their own tools in the app. The app now has more than 50,000 downloads, and more than 500 courts are active on it.

Business Challenges

  • Finding a court took effort

Players learned about courts from friends and social media. They could not compare courts side by side or see which ones had free time.

  • Bookings depended on replies

A player sent a message and waited. By the time the owner answered, the slot was sometimes gone.

  • Double bookings happened

When two players asked about the same hour in different chats, the owner had to remember who asked first.

  • Payment was untidy

Players paid in cash or sent a transfer, and the owner had to check each one. One player often paid for the whole group and chased the others afterwards.

  • Practice was arranged in group chats

Dates, places and names were easy to lose in a long chat.

  • New players found it hard to join games

A beginner had no easy way to meet others at the same level.

  • Owners lacked a clear picture

An owner could not easily see which hours were busy, which were empty or how much a court earned.

Our Solution

Players open the app and see courts near them. Every court has its own page, so a player can compare options before booking.

  • Search by city and area
  • Map view with the location of each court
  • Filter by price per hour
  • Filter by indoor or outdoor court
  • Photos on every court page
  • Opening hours and facilities shown on the page

Each player has a profile with a skill level from beginner to advanced. The level helps players find others who play at the same standard. A new player does not have to ask around to find a fair game, and an experienced player does not get matched with a complete beginner.

Players see the free hours of each court on a live calendar. They pick a slot, and the app holds it for a few minutes while they pay. If payment does not finish, the slot goes back on the calendar. Two players can never book the same hour.

  • Instant confirmation to the player and the owner
  • Cancellation rules set by each court owner
  • A reminder before the game starts

A player who has booked a court can open the match to others. Players at the right level see the match and ask to join. The match is full when four players have joined, which is the number a padel game needs. This solves a common problem. One group has three players and needs a fourth, or a single player wants a game but has no group.

Players create practice sessions inside the app. They set the date, the time and the court, then invite others. Players who join see every detail on one screen. If the plan changes, a notification tells everyone at once, so nobody has to scroll through a group chat to find the new time.

Players pay inside the app as part of the booking. The platform also lets the player who books share the cost between the four players. Each player gets a payment request for their own part and pays it separately. The booking screen shows who has paid and who has not.

  • Online payment inside the booking flow
  • Cost splitting between players
  • A receipt for every payment
  • Refunds that follow the owner’s cancellation rule

Players talk to each other inside the app. A chat opens for each match and each practice session, and only the players in that session can see it. Players do not need a separate group chat to organize a game.

Owners manage their courts with a companion app called Pala De 7 Courts and a web panel.

  • One calendar that shows every booking for every court
  • Prices set for each hour, with different prices for busy and quiet times
  • Hours blocked for maintenance or private events
  • Several courts under one owner account
  • Staff accounts for the people who work at the venue
  • Reports on bookings and income

After a game, players rate the court and leave a comment. Owners read the feedback and see how their court compares with others. Players use the ratings to choose where to book next.

Push notifications tell players about confirmed bookings, new players in a match and changes to a session. Owners get an alert for each new booking and each cancellation.

Data is encrypted when it is sent. Users can ask for their data to be deleted, as the Google Play listing declares.

Development Process

  1. Requirement gathering

We held discovery sessions with the Pala De 7 team to learn how players and owners work today. We then listed the features the platform needed.

  2. UI and UX design

We designed the screens for players first, then for owners, and shared clickable prototypes with the client for feedback.

  3. Booking core

We built court listings and the live calendar first. The slot hold came next, so two players could not book the same hour.

  4. Payments

We added online payment and the option to split a cost between players.

  5. Games and chat

We built open matches and practice sessions, then added in-app chat.

  6. Owner tools

We built the owner app and the web panel so owners could set prices and read reports.

  7. Testing

Tested the booking flow with many players at once. We then tested payments and notifications separately.

  8. Launch and support

Our custom app development team published the app on Google Play and supported the client after launch.
